Many thanks to the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh for publishing an article in their October 2011 Journal about Surayia and the film.  Members of AMCHAM Bangladesh continue to be strong supporters of the film as a way to promote Bangladeshi culture at home and abroad.  We appreciate their help and look forward to seeing them again on our next trip to Dhaka.

We had a wonderful experience in September screening and discussing six films from the U.S. State Department’s Documentary Showcase in Almaty and Shymkent, Kazakhstan.  Film expert and educator Diane Carson and director (Kids with Cameras) Alex Rotaru led the discussions and contributed an immense amount of knowledge about the history of film and the practical aspects of making a documentary.  Their expertise, energy and enthusiasm were amazing.

We learned a lot from Diane and Alex and thank them for their interest in explaining documentary films to new audiences, as well as for their interest in Threads!
