THREADS. art. women. enable. hope. together.

Welcome!  Thank you for your interest in joining with us to bring this story to audiences worldwide.

Please make your check or money order payable to International Documentary Association, and write Threads-3732 on the memo line.  Send to:  Threads, c/o Kantha Productions LLC, PO Box 143, Lakebay, WA 98349-0143.

Donations are tax-deductible for U.S. persons.

We welcome donations in Bangladesh currency as well.  Please contact us to find out how you can help!

Why give now?

Thanks to the support of people around the world, we have completed filming in Bangladesh.  Now we are refining the documentary rough cut, working on visual effects and an original score, as well as planning for post-production work on sound and color.  We have started submitting THREADS to film festivals!  We believe that this unique and inspirational story of art and human spirit needs to be told.  Surayia is 80 years old and we would like her to be able to enjoy the film along with audiences worldwide.  The clock is ticking…

Every dollar helps bring the goal closer!

From $5 for a crew meal in Dhaka to $50,000 to allow us to do more film making and less fundraising, we appreciate your support in any amount!  Your donated airline bonus points help, too!

These are our top priorities for which we aim to raise funds:

  • final editing, titles and visual effects
  • final music composition and narration
  • color correction
  • sound mix
  • insurance and legal services

Many of you have already contributed to our work.  Thank you for joining us and for making a difference.  You are helping to tell the story of these remarkable women and their art to the world.

The International Documentary Association (IDA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the fiscal sponsor for Threads, and all contributions to the film made through IDA are tax-deductible for U.S. persons to the full extent provided by law. Employers may match contributions as well.  Donations from non-U.S. persons are vital to the completion of the film, but are not tax-deductible, although we are exploring ways in which Canadian residents might be able to make a deductible contribution through a Canadian non-profit.

special thanks

Many people have contributed to our work in some special way.  Thank you for your generous support of this film.
